This bird, quail chick, was first made in ancient Egypt between 400 and 30 BC, saved in Metropolitan Museum. A modern artist named Igor, who loves classical art, decided to recreate it. He carefully carved the bird by hand from the stone. Then, he made copies using a silicone mold. The ones in this store are made from strong, lightweight plaster—the kind artists and architects use.
In ancient Egypt, a quail chick symbolized rebirth and renewal. Similar symbols existed in other ancient cultures. But Egyptian artists made it especially elegant.
